This is a document to be used to determine if leaders exhibit competency and/or skills through observed behaviors.
Having a manager performing optimally is crucial. Often we look at employees from the top down, and not the other way around. Well... that is an old school way of thought, and frankly needs to go. A holistic evaluation of your staff is crucial, and this includes managers. Not just what their boss thinks, what do their peers think, what do other managers think.
Businesses often lose brilliant staff due to poor manager behaviour, and the buck stops with you. If you manager is performing poorly, you can have to wonder 'did I do enough to enable them and empower them to do their job well?'. If the answer isn't a resounding yes..... yikes.
This is not the solution to shitty managers - but it is a step in the right direction to helping your managers do their job, their very best.
The evaluation looks at the following areas:
*Building Trust and Respect
*Demonstrates Business and Technology Acumen
*Communicates Effectively
*Meets and Exceeds the Expectations of Customers
*Develops the Skills and Abilities of Others
*Demonstrates Accountability
*Inspires Direct reports
*Creates and Implements a Shared Vision and Strategy
Each criteria will be ranked, ranging from Below Expectations to Exceeds Expectations.
